Volunteers needed!

We need lots of volunteers to make the garden a success. You don’t need to be a farmer or have gardening expertise to help.  You can come for an hour once or spend several hours every week helping.  Throughout the summer and fall we’ll need different kinds and amounts of help, so keep your eyes and ears open for opportunities to help with the garden.

We would love to have volunteers to organize or lead the following aspects of the garden:
  • Maintenance of the garden throughout the summer/fall: weeding, picking, caring for plants (we will need multiple people to take charge of this- perhaps by sections of the garden)
  • Managing the organic and sustainable aspect of the garden
  • Canning
  • Keeping track of what the garden produces and what we donate
  • Delivering produce to food pantries
  • Water management

The following groups are scheduled to work in the garden:
  • Boy Scouts Troop #98: Monday evenings at 6:30 pm
  • Our Savior Summer Camp
  • Our Savior congregation members and anyone else: Saturday mornings at 9:00
We are also looking for small groups (families, neighbors, scout groups, co-workers, friends, etc) to care for the garden on Thursdays over the growing season- you can take one or more Thursdays, time is flexible.

As the summer goes along we'll probably need help at other times too.  If you are interested in volunteering but can't make it to one of the scheduled volunteer times let us know!
