Planting!!!

Two weeks after we cut the sod off of the garden plot we planted the garden.  Thankfully the rain held off until we were finished.  We planted tarragon, dill, cilantro, chives, cucumbers, bush beans, gourds, watermelon, jalapeno peppers, cantaloupe, cherry tomatoes, red bell peppers, broccoli, tomatoes, green bell peppers, 2 kinds of squash (sweet dumpling and blue hubbard), yellow and white onions, and pumpkins.   Check out the garden layout to see a layout of the garden.  We planted some plants and planted a bunch of seeds.  A couple of church members grew some plants from seeds, Platt Hill Nursery donated the red and green pepper plants and onion sets, the Bloomingdale Garden Club donated chives, tarragon, and dill, and Sonny Acres Farm donated the seeds we planted.

The herbs are at this end of the garden.  The white fence will be for the cucumbers to climb up.

The first watering!

That poor tomato plant really needed a drink of water!

Pepper plants

Some of the plants were still very little so we marked them with popsicle  sticks so they wouldn't get lost or stepped on.

The watermelon, cantaloupe, squash, and pumpkin seeds were planted in mounds.

Cucumbers!
